EARTHY ENCOUNTERS (2017 - 24mins)

Earthy Encounters is a short family action-adventure film about a 15-year-old boy who believes he can save his terminally ill brother with an ancient, sentient plant he’s unearthed in the garden centre he works at.

Funded by Creative England and BFI as part of their ‘emerging talent’ scheme, the film stars FIONN O’SHEA (Handsome Devil) and JESSICA BARDEN (The End of the F**cking World).

Some of the film industry’s finest and brightest contributed to the film’s production, including award-winning puppeteers ANDY HEATH and IESTYN EVANS (The Muppets, Star Wars) and renowned stunt coordinator JAMES O’DONNELL (Kick Ass, The Hobbit).

Lensed by cinematographer EBEN BOLTER (BAFTA Breakthrough Brit 2016, iBoy, Mum’s List), the film was shot on the Arri Alexa 65 – the first short film ever to do so. The exact camera used was most recently on Star Wars: Rogue One.

It premiered at Oscar and Bafta Qualifying Cork Film Festival in November 2017, and will continue it's festival run in 2018.
