SAM JOHNSON WRITER & DIRECTOR


Sam Johnson is a British writer & director.

He is developing a TV series with the BFI alongside features with Matt Orton (Operation Finale), Ella Road (Ten Percent, Doctor Who) and the producers of Free Guy.

His film Earthy Encounters was made through the BFI emerging talent scheme. It was the first short film ever to be shot on the Arri Alexa 65, debuted at Tribeca and played at over 100 festivals.

Previously, BFI and Creative England backed Billy the Kid won Audience Awards at Oscar Qualifying Palm Springs, Aesthetica, Rhodes Island and Boston. His debut short Jasmine's Revolution premiered at the BFI London Film Festival.

He shoots commercially for brands including Vogue, Louis Vuitton and Adidas, frequently collaborating with his photographer brother Tom Johnson.

He is represented by Jack Thomas and Patrick Child at Independent Talent Agency.
